Managing Director
Simon Jones is the the founder and Managing Director of Adicent Capital. The company was formed to capitalise on the expertise Adicent could bring to the fragmented real estate capital markets with a particular focus on equity and mezzanine funding for quality projects.
Simon has a long career in investment banking and real estate having spent 16 years at Macquarie Bank as Co-Head of the Real Estate division where his roles included Chairman and CEO of Macquarie Office Trust, CEO and Director of Macquarie DDR Trust and a Director on other listed Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITS) including Macquarie Countrywide Trust, and Macquarie Leisure Trust (now Ardent Leisure).
Under Simon's leadership Macquarie forged a powerhouse real estate investment management division peaking with global assets under management totalling $17 billion covering assets in Australia, New Zealand, United States, China, Japan and Europe.
Simon has hands on experience in both listed and unlisted capital raising, asset identification, acquisitions and divestments and mergers and acquisitions.
Simon engineered the takeover of Celsius House Trust, Lend Lease US Office Trust, 2 Park Street Trust and established $1.7 billion in joint ventures with Maguire Properties and Brandywine Realty Trust of the US. Simon was also instrumental in developing CMBS structures for Australian REITS with Macquarie Office Trust establishing one of the first programmes in the Australian market.
